What is LGV?
LGV infections are increasing in Ireland amongst sexually active gay and bisexual men, especially amongst men living with HIV.
- LGV is a bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a type of chlamydia.
- LGV can be found on the genitals, anus, rectum, penis, mouth/oral cavity and lymph nodes.
- LGV can be treated and cured with specific antibiotics.
- An STI check–up is the only way to find out if you have an infection.
